Job description

The Manager, Injury Management works as part of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing group, and in partnership with other areas of the business, to build a capable and resilient workforce.

  • In this role, you will

Provide effective leadership and direction to a statewide team to operationalise the effective statewide delivery of injury management and consultancy services across the organisation.

Oversee the provision of specialised injury management services, utilising a biopsychosocial approach.

Plan, formulate, implement and monitor injury management systems and standards compliant with relevant legislation, policy and procedures.

Provide credible strategic and tactical injury management advice to management to support complex case management.

Contribute to strategic planning relating to injury management, risk reduction and fitness for work solutions.

Contribute to the design and delivery of the QCS health, safety and wellbeing management system (HSWMS), including systems for the review, monitoring, measurement, analysis and reporting of HSW performance.

Contribute to the development, implementation and management of the HSW strategy, framework and governance across the agency, ensuring compliance and facilitating a continuous improvement safety culture.

Work as an effective high-level business partner, providing credible advice to senior leaders on injury management.

Promote an uplift of WHS capability by facilitating opportunities for learning and consideration of future skills required to deliver programs, enabling increased capability and agility across QCS.

Ensure ongoing employee management and performance conversations, empower employees to improve, to demonstrate ownership and responsibility, to deliver on commitments and conduct themselves in line with QCS values.

Contribute to the design and delivery of integrated and coordinated programs, services and solutions.

Effectively liaise with internal and external clients, stakeholders and other parties to deliver services that meet organisational requirements.

Actively work in collaboration and consultation with central agencies, regulatory authorities, relevant professional and peak industry bodies, and other external stakeholders to build QCS's and HSW's body of evidence on injury management in correctional settings.

Effectively navigate a complex environment of organisational transformation and performance accountability.

Prepare high level correspondence including briefing notes, submissions, reports and reviews.
