About the team

At Deloitte, we're motivated by a purpose that makes a positive impact that matters to our clients and our communities.

As the Deloitte Technology and Transformation team, we provide a wide range of advisory and implementation services harnessing the full suite of capabilities needed to drive end-to-end technology transformation and cybersecurity solutions that accelerate innovation, growth and performance at scale - empowering our clients for the future.

From day one at our firm, you’ll be part of the Deloitte Global community, and our development and career progression framework will help you develop the skills and capabilities you need to succeed – in every sense of the word.

What will your typical day look like?

We are looking for creative individuals who challenge the status quo, are excellent communicators, are passionate about solving complex business and technology problems, and have a strong drive to keep up with an evolving technology landscape. If your aim is to be part of team that delivers great outcomes for our clients, then this role may be for you.

The Appian Manager will be a key member of our Melbourne / Sydney based Technology & Transformation team and the broader Australian Appian Practice.

This role will lead solution design and architecture for Appian based solutions across various industries. As an Appian Architect, your primary responsibility will be to design scalable Appian solutions and to enable and empower delivery teams.

The ideal candidate will combine expertise in Appian with excellent technical, product and business skills to make a real impact for our customers. You will assist organisations with design and implementation of Appian applications. You will also have a sound understanding of security, service-based modular architectures, Cloud technologies, version control, configuration management and other DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Leading the design and development of Appian solutions based on client requirements.
  • Developing technology architecture of Appian deployment across a client’s existing legacy infrastructure.
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their business processes and design solutions that improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Leading pre-sales, scoping, and client presentations.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to Appian developers and team members.
  • Conducting regular code reviews to ensure best practices are being followed and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest Appian features and enhancements to leverage them in client projects.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise during the development and implementation of Appian solutions.
  • Designing data models and identifying performance issues and improvements to existing designs (e.g., tables, stored procedures).
  • Drafting high-level commercial propositions for Appian implementations across various industries.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

We are seeking professionals who can demonstrate required Appian expertise matched with the following :

  • 5+ years of client-facing experience working as a Technical Architect, with at least 3+ years as an Appian Architect.
  • Experience with configuration, development, deployment, and testing of enterprise software applications with Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Appian integrations with key technologies (for example, Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Dynamics365 and also custom integrations via API’s and including cloud-enablement (for example, Azure).
  • Working experience with software consulting (such as in an ERP, CRM, BPM / Workflow, Data Integration Architecture or EAI) and / or applied knowledge of enterprise architecture, including data management.
  • Strong database knowledge to design data models and also identify performance issues with the existing design (e.g., tables, stored procedures, etc.).
  • A deep knowledge of Appian components including Process designing, SAIL, Rules, Security, and Integration.
  • Passionate about enterprise process automation technologies, excited by tough challenges, and be a natural problem solver.
  • Ability to design and review complex, secure and scalable solutions with enterprise software and remove technical impediments.
  • Composure in client-facing situations and have had previous success presenting complex technical concepts & designs to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to lead multiple engagements concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal and soft skills.
  • Why Deloitte?

At Deloitte, we focus our energy on interesting and impactful work. We’re always learning, innovating and setting the standard; making a positive difference to our clients and our society. We put coaching at the heart of what we do, helping our people grow their careers in any direction – whether it be up, moving into something new, or even moving across the world.
