University of the Sunshine CoastMons, AU

Job description
  • Academic Support Unit | UniSC Sunshine Coast, Sippy Downs
  • Level 6, $95,986 - $103,873 plus up to 17% employer superannuation
  • Part-time (21.75hrs per week), ongoing appointment

The Opportunity

The Academic Support Unit (ASU) provides complex academic support across all UniSC locations, including work integrated learning, technical operations, school operational support and school accreditation support. The ASU contributes to innovative teaching and learning, supports research excellence, and ensures governance and compliance across the University.

In this role, you will coordinate the administration of the Commonwealth Prac Placement (CPP) program, a government‑funded initiative that provides financial support to eligible students undertaking mandatory professional placements. You will ensure accurate and compliant delivery of payments, maintain strong governance and reporting practices, and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support a seamless student experience.

You will

  • coordinate the end‑to‑end administration of the CPP program, ensuring payments, processes, data analysis and reporting are delivered accurately and in accordance legislative requirements;
  • work collaboratively with a range of internal and external service providers to deliver consistent, accurate and timely processes and advice, in collaboration with a third‑party provider; and
  • manage the transition of the CPP from project delivery to a sustainable business as usual‑model ensuring continuous improvement and documentation of operational processes, governance arrangements and system enhancement management.

About you

You are a highly organised and detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a structured, compliance‑driven environment. You bring strong analytical skills and a proactive and collaborative approach to problem‑solving, and are confident working with data, systems and processes. You communicate clearly and professionally, build effective relationships with stakeholders, and take pride in delivering accurate, timely work while managing competing priorities. You also handle sensitive information with discretion and contribute to continuous improvement and a positive team environment.

You will possess:

  • completion of a relevant degree with at least two years’ subsequent experience in administration, project coordination or placement management;
  • demonstrated experience in an administrative, project coordination or placement support role within a complex organisational environment, preferably within higher education or a similarly regulated setting;
  • knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, program or grant administration management, including experience providing advice on compliance obligations, governance frameworks, reporting requirements and audit ready recordkeeping practices;
  • well developed analytical and problem solving skills, including an advanced ability to undertake analysis using complex data sources to develop reports that identify discrepancies, investigate issues and work with stakeholders to resolve them;
  • high level organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a high volume, deadline driven environment;
  • experience undertaking financial analysis and reporting in a regulated setting;
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear, accurate advice, particularly written advice and proposal development;
  • demonstrated ability to handle sensitive student and financial information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality and compliance with privacy and records management requirements; and
  • advanced proficiency in using administrative systems, databases and digital tools, with the ability to adapt to new platforms and enhance processes continuously.
