Launceston General Hospital invites applications for a Consultant Urological Surgeon to join our dynamic and expanding team. Serving a population of approximately 300,000, the unit provides a comprehensive Level 6 Urology service across North and North‑West Tasmania, with statewide sub‑specialist services.
Launceston General Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital, Department of Surgical and Perioperative Services; outpatients and theatre suites.
Fixed‑term, part‑time day worker with on‑call duties, working 21 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a three‑year period.
Possibility exists for the successful applicant to work in a visiting medical specialist or staff specialist position with hours to be negotiated.
Visiting Medical Practitioner Level 1‑4: $254,149 – $445,341 per annum, pro rata, plus 12 % superannuation and salary packaging, in accordance with the Tasmanian Visiting Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Agreement 2019.
Additional allowances include:
Registrations and licences must remain current and valid at all times while employed, and the employee is responsible for maintaining them. Pre‑employment checks will be conducted, including conviction checks for violence, sex‑related offences, serious drug offences, crimes involving dishonesty, identification check, and disciplinary action in previous employment.
