Plaza Dental is seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to join our team in Mount Pleasant. This is a full-time position that serves as the first point of contact for our patients and plays a crucial role in the smooth day-to-day operations of our dental practice. As our Dental Receptionist, you will be the welcoming face of our clinic, managing patient interactions, administrative tasks, and ensuring an excellent experience for everyone who walks through our doors. This role is fundamental to maintaining our high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients in a warm and professional manner upon arrival and ensuring they feel welcomed and valued
• Managing the reception desk and handling incoming phone calls, directing enquiries appropriately and providing information about services and treatment options
• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using practice management software, ensuring optimal clinic flow
• Processing patient check-ins and check-outs, including collecting personal information, verifying insurance details, and handling payments
• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with relevant privacy regulations and practice protocols
• Managing appointment reminders and follow-up communications
• Coordinating with dental practitioners and support staff to ensure smooth clinic operations throughout the day
• Processing accounts and managing patient billing inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
• Handling basic administrative tasks including filing, data entry, ordering supplies, and managing correspondence
• Supporting the practice with general office management duties

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a dental surgery (preferred), medical practice, or similar healthcare reception environment is highly desirable
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, colleagues and external stakeholders
• Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively
• Proficiency in using computer systems and practice management software
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping, data entry and administrative work
• A professional appearance and demeanour that reflects the standards of the practice
• Reliability, punctuality and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and patient privacy at all times
• A genuine passion for providing excellent patient service and a positive attitude towards supporting the dental team
