Job description

The Role

Agri Labour Australia is seeking an experienced Grain Handler to support seasonal grain operations in Bordertown, SA. Working within the grain and agricultural industry, you will join a practical, safety-focused team in a busy outdoor bunker environment. This hands-on role involves unloading grain, operating tractors, shovelling grain, pulling and repairing tarps, and assisting with general bunker operations.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the safe and efficient movement, storage and handling of grain during the season. The role requires practical grain experience, confidence around tractors and a willingness to complete physical outdoor duties.

• Assist with unloading and handling grain at bunker sites
• Shovel and move grain as required during bunker operations
• Operate tractors safely and confidently
• Pull, position and secure bunker tarps
• Inspect and repair damaged tarps as required
• Assist with covering and uncovering grain bunkers
• Support general grain receival and storage activities
• Maintain clean and safe bunker and work areas
• Identify and report hazards, equipment faults or damaged tarps
• Assist with other grain handling and seasonal duties as required

• 4-5 months of seasonal employment

Your Skills & Experience

• Previous grain handling experience - essential
• Confident tractor operating skills
• Good English communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Comfortable completing physical duties, including shovelling grain
• Ability to work safely around agricultural machinery and equipment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements
• Flexibility to assist with a variety of grain and bunker duties
