Brightwater Care GroupRedcliffe, AUWe are seeking Therapy Assistants to join our Allied Health team.
This is a part-time position working 3 mornings per week (12 hours a week).
This positions forms part of a multi-disciplinary team under the direction and delegation of allied health professionals. Our Therapy Assistants provide assistance in all aspects of day to day care and individualised therapy, lifestyle and leisure programs to meet the needs of Brightwater Care Group clients. In addition to the expectations expected of a Therapy Assistant, this position is responsible for extended functions as delegated, including but not limited to : coordinating and delivering community access opportunities and services by facilitating client transport to and from Brightwater Residential Aged Care (RAC) facilities as part of the Community Access Program (CAP).
To be successful, you will possess the following attributes :
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Aged Care / Disability) and or progress towards an Allied Health Professional tertiary qualification.
- Strong commitment to providing, with the capability to deliver, safe and high quality care.
- Strong knowledge of current transport guidelines, traffic rules and regulations.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Proven customer-focused work ethic, strong commitment to Brightwater’s Mission and Brightwater Spirit.
- Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury, and / or dementia.
- Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision, organise and prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure, problem solve and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel and get in and out of a vehicle regularly during the day, and remove and replace bus seats with client wheelchairs, as required.
- First Aid Certificate less than three years old (desirable)
- Current Passenger Transport Driver authorisation with the Department of Transport WA.
- Current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
- Satisfactory National Police Certificate obtained within the last 12 months.
