About the role :

Our established and growing team at Brightspace Homes is looking for a Civil Engineer Technician with 2+ years of experience in the Civil sector. A Civil Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting in civil engineering design, construction, and operations, from start to completion, liaising with the client on a daily basis. This would include the preparation of Civil Engineering documentation, and delivery from master planning through to detailed design and construction.

Successful applicants will possess a sound understanding of civil engineering design principles and experience in preparing technical drawing packages. The position will offer a competitive base salary of $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation.

The successful candidates should :

• Conduct tests of construction materials.
• Prepare sketches and tabulations and assist in estimating costs in support of Civil Engineering Professionals and Engineering Technologists.
• Provide support to civil engineers in the design, construction, and management of a variety of projects.
• Prepare detailed building plans.
• Survey sites and arrange for soil and rock samples to be analysed.
• Ensure a project matches client specifications.
• Calculate the amount and type of materials needed.
• Ensure work is carried out according to deadlines.
• Reduce a project’s impact on the environment.
• Work on-site and in an office.
• Inspect project sites and evaluate contractors' work to detect problems.
• Prepare reports and document project activities.
