Job descriptionA Certificate 4 or higher qualification in social work, youth work, community work or equivalent Experience working with people with problematic alcohol and other dependent substance use within a Case Management Framework or an understanding Experience working with young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions Desirable that the successful applicants have an understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing problematic alcohol and other dependent substance use, mental ill health and other disabilities Demonstrated ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviour Effective verbal and written communication skills; participate in the collection of data and report writing. A national police record check is required Driver's Licence Working with Children Card Compulsory Code of Conduct, WHS and Bullying and Harassment training modules are completed and up to date A current first aid or the ability to quickly obtain one

About the Role
As a youth worker you are to support young people with problematic alcohol and other dependent substance use through their journey of recovery.
Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic and comprehensive supports for clients. To deliver a safe, secure, and clean environment for clients in a 24-hour residential setting.
This position is based in Townsville Recovery Services Centre , offering a Permanent Part-Time role
30.4 hours a week
Shift work and weekend work is involved
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SACS Level 3
As the Youth Support Worker you will have the responsibility for the following :
- Complete comprehensive assessments of a young person’s life and living skills to develop an individual Life and Living Skills plan in collaboration with clients. Incorporate a range of interventions, including (but not limited to) health, nutrition & fitness, personal hygiene & physical wellbeing, budgeting & finances, cleaning and maintaining living spaces, positive parenting, and positive respectful relationships.
- Maintain accurate, up to date client records and data for all clients, ensuring all interactions are documented within SAMIS and meet program expectations around case noting in accordance with TSA standards and procedures.
- Develop a co-operative relationship with all staff members, to ensure an effective team approach to program implementations and service delivery.
- Safe transport of clients in TSA leased vehicle
