Overview

We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Support Teachers for permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Burbridge School provides individualised diverse and innovative learning programmes for students in Kindergarten to Year 12 with moderate to severe special needs. Burbridge School is situated 15 km north of Perth in Koondoola. Students benefit from purpose‑built, specialist facilities including a hydrotherapy pool, gymnasium, enterprise gardens, library, medical room, kitchen with both regular and switch‑adapted appliances, light and dark multi‑sensory room, and a life skills centre. These facilities assist in inspiring a meaningful and positive future for the students to develop as confident and competent adults.

Role

We are seeking ethical, dedicated, highly competent and enthusiastic special education teachers with excellent interpersonal skills who are capable of creating high quality, effective teaching and learning experiences for their students.

This includes coordinating weekly meetings, providing training and undertaking performance development. The desire to invest in developing positive working relationships with students, parents and colleagues is a key focus for all staff at Burbridge School.

We are looking for team‑orientated teachers who are passionate about teaching to join the dynamic team of teachers currently at our school. Our staff are expected to demonstrate a preparedness to collaborate with and support other colleagues in the development and implementation of the school’s curriculum. This includes ensuring access to the curriculum for all students, inclusive of their individual needs. Staff commitment to implementing whole‑school curriculum policies and programs in English, Maths and Health and Wellbeing (e.g. Protective Education, Positive Behaviour Support and MOVE) needs to be evident.
