Job descriptionProvide compassionate and person-centred support to young people with diverse needs and abilities. Foster a safe and nurturing environment contributing to growth and development. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored support plans and interventions. Empower individuals to build essential life skills and promote independence. Use daily routines to provide hands on training for life skills such as cooking, personal care and budgeting. Experience in disability support work or a related field. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference. Ability to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of young people. Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2) Hold or be willing to enrol into a Cert 4 or higher recognised qualification Driver's licence (P2 minimum) Hope & Healing modules Smartphone with internet access CPR Certificate (willing to obtain) SCSS and our partner companies are committed to an inclusive environment where people feel comfortable to be themselves. Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a leading Child Safety provider throughout QLD. Children, Youth & Family Services (CYF) are seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers who are eager to transition into the youth sector and make a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities :
What we're looking for :
CYF programs operate 24 / 7 which includes shift work (sleepovers, weekends, and possibly awake shifts).
