Do you want to be a part of a team that promotes and improves the health of its people and community?

We are seeking suitable applications for a highly capable and values-driven individual to join our dynamic Medical Oncology team. You will be a fast-learner ready to tackle a steep learning curve with an interest in oncology research and clinical trials. An innovative problem-solver, your actions, interactions and partnerships achieve high quality outcomes.

This is for a Fixed Term Full Time appointment until 28 December 2025 with the possibility of extension(s).

What is our Clinical Trials Assistant – Medical Oncology role?

As an entry level position, this is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in the set-up and implementation of clinical studies. Working within a small team, you will support senior colleagues and undertake administrative duties in the clinical trials unit. This position maintains a high level of data accuracy in completing research registration and clinical trial activities including scheduling and booking of appointments, maintenance of patient study records, ensuring completion of case report forms, entering data and responding to data queries on a range of databases ensuring compliance with the research protocol and clinical trial regulations at all times.

The Medical Oncology Department provides a comprehensive consultative and management service in cancer medicine to the Western Australian community including :

  • Provision of inpatient, day care and outpatient consultative and treatment services for adult cancers.
  • Multidisciplinary clinics in breast cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancers and gynaecological cancers amongst others.
  • Participation in National and International controlled clinical trials to evaluate strategies of cancers.

While your qualifications and experience tell us part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still. At North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS), we aim to ensure our behaviours reflect our core values : Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity. During the selection process you will be assessed on your ability to fulfil the responsibilities of this position while upholding our values.

What we offer

NMHS supports flexible working practices and consideration will be given to flexible work options, where operationally appropriate. In addition to the great salary, our employees enjoy an amazing range of benefits () including :

  • Generous salary packaging to increase take-home pay
  • Professional and career development opportunities
  • Diverse and inclusive culture

  • Eligibility to Apply : To be eligible for a fixed term appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
