Join us at Wingecarribee Shire Council as a Building Surveyor, where you'll apply your technical expertise and professional judgement to deliver evidence-based regulatory outcomes that support safe, compliant and high-quality development across one of NSW's most unique and vibrant regions.

What you’ll do

As our Building Surveyor, you'll play a key role in supporting safe, compliant, and sustainable development across the Shire. Reporting to the Coordinator Health and Building, you'll deliver professional building certification, inspection, and advisory services while working closely with residents, builders, developers, and internal stakeholders.

You’ll assess and determine applications for Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates, Occupation Certificates, Building Information Certificates and Section 68 approvals, undertake inspections when appointed as the Principal Certifier, and exercise other functions delegated by Council. You'll provide expert advice on building, plumbing and drainage matters, contribute to development assessment referrals and compliance activities, and support the delivery of consistent, timely and legislatively compliant regulatory services in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies.

Why Wingecarribee?

At Wingecarribee Shire Council, you'll be part of a values-driven organisation committed to delivering exceptional services and creating positive outcomes for our community. Guided by our Community Strategic Plan 2035, we're focused on building a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient future while protecting the unique character of our Shire.

We foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing workplace where innovation is encouraged, diverse perspectives are valued, and professional growth is supported. Whether you're looking to develop your career or make a meaningful impact in local government, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the places where our community lives, works, and thrives.
