UNSW School of Optometry & Vision Science is seeking two full-time lecturers for a fixed-term position (end date 30 June
- ) based in Kensington, Sydney.
Employment type : Full time (35 hours per week)
Duration : Fixed term until 30 June
Remuneration : $127k – $150k base + 17% super and leave loading
Work rights : Must hold full rights to work in Australia (visa sponsorship not available)
Location : Kensington, Sydney
Why this role matters
Opportunity to contribute to high-quality optometry and vision science education, playing a key role in shaping contemporary teaching and learning experiences.
You will lead the development and redesign of courses to align with the new UNSW semester calendar and meet requirements of the OCANZ Accreditation Framework.
The role will also involve driving innovation in teaching practices and programmatic assessment, engaging collaboratively with senior staff and key stakeholders to ensure educational approaches are forward-thinking, evidence-based and responsive to the needs of students and the profession.
Key Skills Required
Registered as an optometrist in Australia with expertise in clinical optometry and ocular therapeutics
Up-to-date professional development in the discipline
Experience in teaching, curriculum development, learning design, and delivery at undergraduate and / or postgraduate level
Familiarity with educational technologies and online delivery methods
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence
Experience or knowledge of industry and work-integrated learning (desirable)
Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills
Ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and promote equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives
