Advanced Optometry is seeking an experienced, capable and people-focused Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our established Brisbane CBD optometry practice.
We are an independently owned practice and a member of the ProVision network. Advanced Optometry is known for providing high-level, ethical and highly personalised eyecare, with particular expertise in custom contact lenses, complex vision problems and patients requiring more specialised care.
Our reputation has been built on clinical excellence, integrity and genuine patient care. Optometrists and ophthalmologists regularly trust us with referrals for patients requiring advanced contact lens solutions, complex assessment or a higher level of clinical support.
The Role
The Practice Manager will play a key role in ensuring the practice operates efficiently, professionally and consistently, while supporting our clinicians and team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading, supporting and developing the practice team
- Overseeing the daily operations and workflow of the practice
- Maintaining high standards of patient service and communication
- Managing staff rosters, leave and day-to-day staffing requirements
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
- Monitoring practice systems, processes and administrative standards
- Stock control, supplier relationships and purchasing
- Supporting financial administration, reporting and practice performance
- Coordinating communication between the clinical, optical and administrative teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, patient experience and team performance
- Helping maintain a positive, accountable and professional workplace culture
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and confident managing of practice operations under the direction of the practice owner.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing an optometry practice
- Strong leadership and team-management skills
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- A warm, professional and patient-focused communication style
- High standards of accuracy, discretion and professional integrity
- Confidence implementing systems and maintaining team accountability
- Experience with rostering, staff development and operational administration
- A genuine interest in supporting high-quality, ethical healthcare
- Knowledge of Optomate practice-management software is highly desirable.
