Build Technology Used at World-Class Events

We're looking for a Software Developer to join the PV4 Product Development team at RWS Global.

PV4 is the software platform used to plan, manage, orchestrate and deliver major live sporting, entertainment and cultural events around the world.

The platform has supported some of the world's largest and most complex productions, including Olympic Games, international multi-sport events, World Championships and other globally significant events.

As part of a small, highly skilled engineering team, you'll help build and evolve the cloud services, applications and integrations that power these events behind the scenes.

This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, building modern cloud-native systems and taking ownership of software that is used in real-world environments.

About The Team

We are not a large corporate development department.

The PV4 team is a small, collaborative group of engineers responsible for a product that plays a critical role in event delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

Your primary focus will be backend cloud development using AWS serverless technologies.

You’ll Work On

• Cloud-native backend services and APIs.
• Event-driven workflows and integrations.
• Infrastructure as Code.
• Cloud architecture and platform evolution.
• Production monitoring, observability and operational improvements.
• Deployment automation and CI/CD.
• Reliability, resilience and platform maturity initiatives.

You'll primarily work with technologies such as:

• AWS CDK
• Lambda
• AppSync
• GraphQL
• Step Functions
• Fargate / ECS
• DynamoDB
• EventBridge
• Node.js
• TypeScript
• Docker

While this role is primarily backend-focused, we're a small product team and developers occasionally contribute across the broader platform, including web and desktop applications built using technologies such as Nuxt, Vue and Electron.

You do not need to be an expert in those technologies on day one. We're much more interested in finding somebody with strong backend and cloud engineering capability.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have experience with many of the following:

Backend & Cloud Development

• AWS serverless application development.
• Infrastructure as Code, ideally AWS CDK.
• API development using GraphQL and/or REST.
• Node.js and TypeScript.
• Event-driven architectures.
• Docker and containerised workloads.
• Building, maintaining and supporting production systems.

Operational Excellence

We’re particularly interested in developers who think beyond implementation and care about how services operate in production.

• Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:
• Monitoring and observability.
• CloudWatch, Grafana or similar platforms.
• Structured logging and diagnostics.
• Application Performance Monitoring (APM).
• Reliability engineering.
• Incident investigation and troubleshooting.
• Resilience and disaster recovery strategies.
• Operational tooling and platform maturity initiatives.

Additional Experience

Experience With Any Of The Following Would Be Beneficial

• Nuxt 3
• Vue 3
• Electron
• WebSockets
• Real-time systems
• Third-party integrations
• Agile software delivery practices
