- you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role :
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in science or engineering, ideally coupled with strong HACCP, recycled water management and / or treatment plant experience.
- Significant experience with a large urban water utility, or relevant experience in the water industry or industrial water treatment, where you have been responsible for management of water quality outcomes.
- Experience managing legislative and statutory compliance issues and the ability to identify and resolve recycled water quality issues.
- Ability to build strong partnerships across all key stakeholder groups.
- Project management and team leadership skills with the ability to develop, coordinate and manage projects, people, and resources effectively.
- Ability to identify and solve problems of a complex scientific nature coupled with effective critical, problem solving and investigative skills.

This is a newly created position working on the Wamuran Irrigation Scheme (WIS) which is an exciting project that will provide year-round water security for Wamuran farmers while sustainably managing wastewater from the Caboolture South STP. As the Water Quality Specialist, you will provide specialist expertise and leadership in recycled water management systems and be responsible for developing innovative solutions to ensure optimal recycled water quality to our customers. Additionally, you will support the Customer Delivery teams to deliver outcomes related to the Recycled Water Scheme.
Your demonstrated knowledge and experience in the fields of chemistry and / or microbiology, quality management systems and HACCP principles will be utilised to address the questions faced by senior management and operational staff. In addition, you will contribute to the development of strategies and play an effective technical role in the implementation of key strategic, corporate and operational plans.
