About the role The Mental Health and Wellbeing Local / s, act as front door to the mental health service system. We provide a continuum of care and support including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support.
We are seeking a creative and personable Art Therapist for a fixed term, full time (38 hours per week) opportunity in the Melton area. You will use a variety of art-based techniques in the assessment and support of individuals and groups including drawing, painting, sculpture, all forms of cultural expression, and mixed media.
Key responsibilities Provide high quality art therapy approaches and techniques in accordance with professional, ethical and National Standards.Willingness to draw upon your experiences of culture as this relates to specific groups in the community to inform your work. Encourage individual creative expression, including the development of reflection skills upon their creative outputs.Build capacity of people accessing the service, support partners and multidisciplinary teams, and provide appropriate training to support staff.Work collaboratively and cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary and interprofessional team within the Local.What you'll bring Tertiary qualifications in Art TherapyAble to obtain registration with Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA) through post graduate studies.Ability to utilise community language / s in your work with people accessing the Local, community groups, community leaders and other stakeholders.Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health challenges, AOD challenges, complex needs and with their families, carers and supporters.A strong knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of psychotherapy and the role that art or expressive and somatic therapy can play in treatment.Benefits Salary packaging up to $15,899 p.a. allows you to allocate a portion of your pre-tax income to cover living expenses (e.g. rent, mortgage, child care, car leasing expenses etc.)Generous leave entitlements including 8 weeks paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, and Monthly Accumulated Day off (Full time employees).Access to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Converge International,for you and your immediate family members.Fitness Passport - Access to our corporate health and fitness program, providing you and family with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities.Professional development through regular Practice Development sessions and coaching with your supervisorInterested?
