Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.

Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

Engineer - Mining

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for experienced and ambitious Mining Engineer to join our team at Dugald River Mine.

Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, you will aim ensure production activities are supported with appropriate plans and subsequent reports in alignment with the delivery of development and production targets.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.

Qualifications, Competencies & knowledge:

To be successful in this role, you will be a strong performer with the ability to lead through positive actions. You will have great ability to engage and manage stakeholders at all levels; while having strong Underground mining experience with a practical understanding of underground drainage, power, air, water, ventilation and backfill techniques.

• • Minimum of 2 years underground metalliferous mining experience
• Technical experience, especially in mine scheduling and planning experience, will be well regarded.
• Practical underground experience will be well regarded.
• Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering (Essential).
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance (QESC) (Essential).
• Manual Drivers license.
• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Deswik solutions, Deswick Ops is beneficial.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Completion of appropriate, accurate and timely mine operating plans, designs, schedules and budgets for
• Dugald River Mine ensuring the requirements of the business are met.
• Completion of mine designs, including stope design, infrastructure and level planning.
• Communication with key stakeholders.
• QAQC to ensure work is delivered in alignment with plan.
• Support projects undertaken and mining related processes
• Provide support for business improvement initiatives.
• Consistently demonstrate behaviours that align with MMG Values and Code of Conduct.
