We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer with a strong construction background.
Formwork or temporary works experience will be an advantage.
You will have the opportunity to work on some of the biggest construction projects currently taking place in Sydney.
About the Role
This is a full-time position which will see you work on one of our live projects.
The Site Engineer will report to the Project Manager and assist the Site Manager.
The Site Engineer will be responsible for :
Working with the Project Manager and site team to manage the Quality Assurance systems.
Preparing ITP check sheets, booking and attending third party engineering inspections, and managing the process through various apps.
Coordinating and checking cast-ins and formwork items during pre-pour inspections.
Participating in Design process including shop drawing transmittal and approvals process.
Reviewing buildability of the works and working with the Project Manager, and the Temporary Works Design Engineers to develop solutions.
Reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications and communicating the information to the site team.
Reviewing and marking up revised drawings identifying and highlighting any changes and communicating these to the site team.
Marking up drawings to simplify for the site team including working out levels.
Identifying design or site issues that may result in time delays and working with the Project Manager and Site Manager to find preventative solutions.
Interfacing between the Site Manager and leading hands raising queries and RFI's to the client and consultant teams.
Managing the project Documentation to ensure the most current documentation is being used and removing superseded documents from active use.
Ensuring that all site works are carried out in accordance with the current documentation, and the contract Scope of Works.
Participating with the site team implementing the Safety Management Plan through the use of SWMS, managing checklists such as pre-start briefings, toolbox talk meeting, and ensuring that works are carried out according to approved documentation.
Managing the formwork stripping permit system, and communicating the formwork stripping requirements / limitations to site.
Documenting site progress by taking daily photographs for site records, completing daily diaries, QA records, progress measures and to incorporate in the monthly reports.
Other duties as directed by the Project Manager / Site Manager for future responsibilities.
Promoting and developing a strong safety culture.
Willingness to work Saturdays.
Skills and Experience
Formal civil engineering or construction qualification.
Previous construction experience (Formwork will be an advantage).
Minimum 2 years' experience.
Experience with Builders / Principal Contractors in NSW.
Experience working with MS Office, MS Excel and Aconex.
Initiative and a strong ability to work autonomously, independently and with minimal supervision.
Be self-driven with the goal to progress your career.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with clients and in house teams.
Provide support to Site Management and other team members.
Must have a 'can do' attitude.
Ability to work to tight schedules and deadlines.
Unrestricted right to work in Australia.
Sound technical ability and able to read and interpret plans, drawings & specifications and can communicate the information to the site team.
Able to work within a team and learn and develop effective communication skills.
