Job description

We are seeking a Senior Visual Arts (Years 3-6) teacher to join our school community.

A great fixed-term, full-time opportunity exists for a Visual Arts teacher to join our positive, supportive, and close-knit school environment. St Mary’s is open to flexible arrangements, offering either a 0.4 or 0.8 position.

You will need :

  • A strong commitment to Catholic Education and Catholic Identity;
  • Accreditation to teach RE or a willingness to obtain it;
  • The ability to plan for and implement engaging and effective teaching and learning in line with the Victorian Curriculum;
  • A commitment to understanding how learners learn and how to best target individual needs;
  • Ability to use a range of assessment strategies and analyze data to inform student learning;
  • Positive, realistic, and creative strategies for managing student behaviour and adhering to whole-school practices;
  • The ability to provide a safe and engaging learning environment that makes a real difference;
  • A willingness to be an effective member of the St Mary’s professional community, committing to ongoing quality personal and professional development;
  • Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching;
  • An understanding of AITSL standards and professional teacher expectations;
  • A commitment to the VRQA Child Safe Standards and Practices.
