Due to extensive growth, we are on the hunt for experienced and capable Diesel Fitters to join our expanding Townsville Component Rebuild Center. If you’re looking to get out of FIFO / DIDO, work in town, be home every night and want to be part of a close-knit team, then this job is for you!

Multiple permanent Monday to Friday positions are available working 38 hours per week .

The primary focus of this role is to repair, rebuild and overhaul a range of Caterpillar components . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a world class facility and access the latest in CAT equipment , technology and training resources. Our Townsville Component Rebuild Center works with a wide variety of components including :

Differentials & Torque Converters

Engines

Hydraulic Cylinders

Reclamation Shop

Small Components

Transmissions

Component Test Section

As a Diesel Fitter in this varied and interesting role, you will :

Service, repair and maintain a range of Caterpillar components

Increase productivity by completing all repairs and overhauls in a safe and timely manner

Determine the reusability of all disassembled parts

Accurately maintain and complete all paperwork associated with job completion

Ensure cleanliness and quality is of the highest standard at all times

Perform efficiently by working to a schedule of daily overhaul requirements

About You

A successful teammate will have the following :

Trade Qualification – Cert III Engineering (Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners, Diesel Fitters)

Demonstrated 5 years post trade mechanical fitting experience

Disassembly & Assembly experience

Computer literate, along with experience in SIS

Strong commitment to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety

The ability to work within a team and unsupervised

Excellent planning and organisational skills

Be available for day & afternoon rotating weekly work shifts
