What this opportunity involves:

JLL is seeking a dynamic Retail Manager to join our Property Asset Management teams Retail Portfolio. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Woodgrove Shopping Centre in Melton West, a large shopping precinct.

An overview of the role:

• Assist in delivering the centres’ business plan objectives and budgets
• Contribute to income maximisation by ensuring timely collection of rentals, outgoings, turnover rentals, promotion levies, and other tenant recoverable
• Work with the Admin Manager and Centre Manager to aggressively reduce arrears
• Assist in preparing and implementing Income and Expenditure Budgets
• Manage relationships with clients, tenants, and community groups
• Provide on-demand services to clients
• Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with local business community
• Contribute to marketing strategies in conjunction with Marketing Managers
• Assist the Operations Team in maintaining high standards of security and cleanliness
• Oversee centre operations, including OH&S compliance
• Participate in emergency management training and events
• Ensure retailers adhere to lease obligations
• Manage tenancy delivery processes, including documentation for new retailers
• Handle assignment of leases within Retail Leases Act timeframes
• Maintain accurate tenancy schedules
• Ensure legal compliance across all centre operations
• Prepare documentation for mediation or legal proceedings
• Assist in client reporting and respond promptly to internal information requests
• Complete accident/incident reports and manage public liability claims
• Verify appropriate insurance coverage for retailers, contractors, and casual mall lessees

Sound like you? This is what we’re looking for:

• Proven retail management experience
• Strong financial capabilities and budgeting skills
• In-depth knowledge of the Retail Leases Act
• Agents Rep / Real Estate License required
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to retail property management
• Experience in preparing business cases and reports
• Understanding of OH&S requirements in a retail environment
