Are you a strategic data leader who thrives on building high-impact teams and delivering scalable solutions? We’re looking for a Head of Data & Analytics Engineering to lead our data transformation efforts across Australia and New Zealand, driving innovation, operational excellence, and business value.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and execute the data engineering vision for AU / NZ, aligned with global strategy and local business needs.
- Build and lead high-performing teams of data engineers, analytics engineers, and technical leaders.
- Deliver data products, APIs, and marketplace integrations (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS, Azure).
- Expand capabilities to include data science model support, machine learning, and Gen AI applications.
- Ensure architectural integrity, process automation, and platform scalability across all initiatives.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic priorities.
- Lead change management efforts and drive adoption of emerging technologies and best practices.
- Monitor industry trends and recommend innovations that enhance our data ecosystem.
Job Qualifications
12+ years of experience in software engineering and data systems within complex environments.5+ years leading technical teams including architects, senior developers, directors and managers.Proven success in building and scaling data engineering teams.Strong communication, influencing, and strategic thinking skills.Experience creating and aligning technical roadmaps with business objectives.Skilled in stakeholder management, budgeting, and vendor relationships.Deep understanding of data engineering, analytics engineering, and automation.Expertise in system design, integration, and architecture for heterogeneous platforms.Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.Familiarity with SDLC and project lifecycle methodologies.Hands‑on experience with MicroServices, APIs, and integration patterns.Technical fluency in SQL, Java, Spring, React.JS, Airflow, and cloud data flows.Knowledge of Gen AI, LLMs, and Agentic AI concepts.Experience with cloud platforms—GCP preferred.Why Join Cotality?
