We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced 8T Forklift Operator to join our structural steel fabrication facility in Corio. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe loading and unloading of steel components, including long and oversized materials up to 18 metres in length. This role is critical to supporting production and dispatch teams to ensure efficient material movement within our workshop and yard.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating large forklifts in a steel or heavy industrial environment, with excellent spatial awareness and the ability to manoeuvre large loads with precision. A strong understanding of workplace safety practices and communication skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities :
- Operate 8-tonne forklifts safely and efficiently to move heavy steel components
- Load and unload trucks with materials up to 18 metres in length
- Liaise with production and dispatch teams to meet daily scheduling and delivery requirements
- Conduct pre-start checks and ensure machinery is maintained to safety standards
- Assist with general yard duties and other logistics tasks as required
