This role provides an exciting opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in food preparation and team leadership, contributing to a thriving, customer-focused environment.

About the Role

As a Deli Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the deli department, ensuring everything runs smoothly and to the highest standards. Your expertise in food preparation will be key to maintaining exceptional quality and presentation while leading your team to provide a fantastic shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Department Leadership : Lead, coach, and motivate your team to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Inventory Management : Monitor and manage stock levels, minimise waste, and implement effective ordering strategies
  • Customer Satisfaction : Create a welcoming and customer-focused environment, addressing inquiries and special requests professionally
  • Merchandising : Oversee product presentation and implement strategies to drive sales and improve the shopping experience
  • Quality Control : Maintain product freshness and ensure compliance with food safety standards
  • Financial Performance : Analyse financial data, achieve sales targets, and optimise pricing and promotions
  • Team Development : Recruit, train, and inspire your team to grow and excel
  • Supplier Relations : Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors
  • Compliance : Ensure adherence to company policies and relevant regulations
  • Innovation : Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh ideas to improve customer satisfaction and department performance
  • Company-Wide Initiatives : Lead and support store initiatives that align with broader business goals

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in food preparation and / or managing a deli or fresh food department
  • Strong leadership skills and a passion for working with people
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
