Job descriptionWorking knowledge of working with students with range of disabilities, learning difficulties and complex behaviours. Strong interpersonal and relational communication skills. Experience in delivering education programmes, behaviour management plans, and developing strategies for teachers and support staff. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to coordinate staff rosters and relief. Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid work visa suitable for the term. Valid Working With Children Check before commencement. Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtaining a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before commencement. Education Assistant - Lead
Join the Department of Education, Western Australia as an Education Assistant – Lead at Beeliar Primary School. This role involves permanent and fixed‑term, full‑time and part‑time appointments to support the School’s inclusive education model.
Role Overview
The Education Assistant – Lead will lead, mentor, coach, and model best practice for other Education Assistants. You will work closely with the Manager Corporate Services, Deputy Principals, and the Student Services team to support student growth academically and socially, particularly for students with disabilities, learning difficulties, and complex behaviours.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and professional development for Education Assistants.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement classroom strategies.
- Support the Multi‑Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) approach within the school.
- Coordinate staff rosters and relief logistics to ensure effective delivery of education programs.
- Collect, analyse and present student data to inform whole‑school improvement plans.
