What does the job look like?
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our C&HG team. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for identifying and winning new business, leading end-to-end tender and bid processes, and building strong relationships with strategic growth customers. You’ll work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to deliver seamless submissions and drive the growth strategy aligned with our “Drive to 30 Strategy.”
Responsibilities
- Identify and develop relationships with strategic growth customers through market research and competitor analysis.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end tender and bid process, ensuring all key milestones are met.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Operations, Legal, Safety, Commercial, and Senior Leadership Teams) to devise and execute growth strategies.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance presentation content for submission responses, highlighting our unique value proposition.
- Build and maintain a resource library for future bid proposals, leveraging insights from previous submissions.
- Manage and maintain a robust business development pipeline.
- Proactively manage customer relationships and represent Linfox with the highest professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications
A qualification in Logistics Management or equivalent experience in logistics / supply chain management.5–10 years’ experience in a complex logistics environment.Proven experience managing successful tenders and bid processes.Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.Excellent proposal writing and communication skills (written and verbal).Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost-to-serve inputs.Ability to interpret data, identify operational solutions, and drive continuous improvement.High attention to detail, business analysis, and problem‑solving skills.Proficiency in using systems, running reports, and understanding operational impacts on financials.Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.Flexible, accountable, and effective both independently and as part of a team.Benefits
