We’re looking for a proactive and driven Project Manager to manage low to medium risk projects that expand and maintain our Bus and Ferry network. You’ll lead diverse teams of in-house experts and private sector professionals, driving impactful projects that make a real difference across the Public Transport Authority.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full delivery of infrastructure projects, including planning, budgeting, design input, scheduling, and risk management, ensuring compliance with the PTA’s Project Management Framework.
  • Oversee contract management activities such as procurement, tendering, contract administration, and dispute resolution to maintain project progress and budget control.
  • Lead and support project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups, to ensure clear communication and alignment of project objectives.
  • Support continuous improvement by documenting lessons learned, reviewing project performance, and contributing to divisional policies and strategies.

If you’re passionate about delivering high-impact projects and leading teams to success, this is your chance to make a lasting contribution to Western Australia’s public transport system.

About You

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, with eligibility for Professional Membership of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead, mentor, and coach team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, negotiate outcomes, and resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency with relevant systems and software required to perform the duties of this role efficiently.

Rail transport plays a vital role in our continued success and growth, exemplified by our numerous projects such as METRONET, designed to meet the public’s needs and expectations. Moving millions of people requires the skill and commitment of a talented workforce, and at the PTA, we are dedicated to delivering on our vision and purpose while upholding our values every step of the way.

Benefits

  • Health and Wellbeing programs including access to a free 24/7 onsite Gym
  • Subsidised Corporate Apparel and Spectacles
  • Opportunity to join our Social Club offering savings and benefits all year round.
