Job Title : Data Modeler

Roles and responsibilities

Experience in documenting and designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models with high quality definition.

Responsible for the review of logical and physical data models.

Publish models using standardized methods and create bespoke communication packs to convey the model content to diverse audiences.

Liaise with Information Management peers to ensure that reference data values and data transformation processes are aligned with endorsed patterns.

Facilitate workshops to capture the data requirements for specific end use cases

Conduct an end-to-end assessment of data from the ingestion of source systems into the provision of analytical solutions

Provide guidance on the placement and data model design concepts required to support data assets

Assess example source content against target models to ensure integrity and alignment with use cases

Assess the data model design for anticipated scale efficiencies of data supply

Communicate the concepts and rules of the data model design and support model users to achieve their goals

Contribute to the change management aspects of the long-term implementation of data analytic solutions

Skills and Experience

Industry Knowledge Understanding the fundamentals of Data Modelling in Hadoop and Data Warehouse (preferably Teradata) required.

Logical and physical data modelling in complex environments – spanning Hadoop and Teradata

Familiarity with Erwin Data Modeler tool, model mart the Web Portal feature.

Experience in banking / financial industry models and designing Enterprise data models.

Publish efficient Physical data models based on target data layer which could be No Sql, Sql or message based.

Proficient in data analysis, data profiling using SQL or other tools.

Understanding of e2e processing of a data in an analytics environment
