About the Role

Join a caring and passionate team within the Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Mental Health Clinical Program, where you’ll play an important part in supporting recovery-focused care for consumers. You’ll be working alongside a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals delivering high-quality clinical services across inpatient, sub-acute, community and rehabilitation settings for youth, adult and older persons’ mental health services.

As an Allied Health Assistant (Social Work), you’ll work under the guidance of Social Work staff to help ensure the smooth, safe and professional operation of the Social Work service within the Mental Health Unit. Your role may see you working across inpatient and community environments, contributing to meaningful care and support for consumers and their families, while gaining valuable experience as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

About You

You’re a compassionate and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges. You bring empathy, professionalism and a collaborative approach to your work, and thrive in a team that values integrity, accountability and care.

You hold or are working towards a relevant qualification such as a Certificate IV in Mental Health (Non-Clinical) or an undergraduate degree in a health-related discipline.

You demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.

You are reliable, ethical and adaptable, able to manage workloads effectively, respond calmly in challenging situations, and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

You have experience or a keen interest in supporting individuals with mental health concerns, and a sound understanding of confidentiality, safety and professional workplace practices.
