Join a leading Australian enterprise to work on a greenfield AI platform initiative that will build the foundations for secure, scalable, and production-ready AI across the organisation.

This is a hands‑on technical leadership role where you’ll help design, build, and operationalise an enterprise‑grade AI Workbench platform that will empower data scientists and analysts to experiment, deploy, and scale ML models and generative AI use cases.

About the Project

You’ll be joining a new initiative to create an AI Workbench platform that unifies data science and ML development across the organisation. The platform will :

• Enable rapid experimentation with ML models and LLM prompts
• Streamline and standardise tooling for AI / ML workflows
• Provide secure, governed, and scalable access to data and compute
• Lay the foundation for enterprise‑scale AI production capabilities

Built on AWS using services like SageMaker, Bedrock, S3, RDS, and Teradata , this platform will support three core components :

As Principal Data & AI Platform Engineer , you will :

Mentor engineers and uplift platform capability , shaping the engineering culture for this new initiative

What You’ll Bring

✅ 10+ years’ experience building and operating large‑scale data or AI / ML platforms in enterprise environments

✅ Strong technical expertise across AWS services (SageMaker, Bedrock, S3, IAM, CloudFormation / Terraform, CI / CD)

✅ Proven success establishing platform engineering patterns and standards in greenfield or early‑stage initiatives

✅ Hands‑on experience in AI / ML Ops , secure data integration, and infrastructure automation

✅ Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to translate architecture into actionable build plans

✅ (Bonus) Familiarity with GenAI, LLM orchestration, or prompt engineering
