Role Overview
Working with Northern NSW Local Health District, you will deliver contemporary comprehensive specialist General Paediatric services within the network hospitals, including inpatient services, outpatient clinics, hospital in the home and consultancy where applicable, to achieve optimal patient outcomes and support a healthy community through quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and participate in quality improvement activities.
- Deliver contemporary comprehensive specialist General Paediatric services for inpatient, outpatient, hospital in the home and consultancy.
- Provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Respond on site within a reasonable time frame and participate in an on‑call roster.
Qualifications and Experience
Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Paediatrician, and / or specialist international medical graduate pathways.Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Paediatrics and Neonatal Medicine at the role delineation of the service.Demonstrated recent clinical experience with Child and Adolescent medicine as well as children with complex care requirements.Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW / Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment.Current valid NSW Working with Children Check is a requirement of this position.Benefits

Tweed Valley Hospital, your primary work location, is a new, major referral hospital at the heart of the Tweed‑Byron region, opened on 14 May 2024. The Northern NSW Local Health District covers a large area in north‑eastern NSW and provides a diverse range of public healthcare across 12 hospitals and multi‑purpose services, 21 community health centres and other facilities.
