Come and work as a vital member of our Assets & Projects team here at Mareeba Shire Council, located within an easy one-hour drive from Cairns offering a regional lifestyle with all its benefits in relatively close proximity to Cairns.

The Role :

Our Grants Project Officer has a primary focus on sourcing and preparing professional funding and grant applications to build on Council’s existing received funding for the infrastructure services and projects for our Shire. This position prepares accurate milestone and progress reports for grant-funded projects in accordance with funding body requirements and also provides administrative support to the Manager Assets & Projects.

What we are looking for :

• You will have ideally completed tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as business or communications, with qualifications in project management or asset management considered an advantage
• You will have proven experience in writing grant submissions and be able to provide evidence of your successful grant applications and funding achievements
• You will have the ability to research, make assessments of and interpret complex information such as funding programs, impact reports and development of business cases
• You will pride yourself on your attention to detail and be motivated to maintain high standards of written accuracy and quality when preparing correspondence and documents
• You will be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
