- 1 position for RANZCP Stage 1 entry in Broome, Kimberley Region
- 1 position for RANZCP Stage 1 entry in Geraldton, Midwest Region
- 2 positions for RANZCP Stage 1 entry in Albany, Great Southern Region
- 2 positions for RANZCP Stage 1 entry in Bunbury, South West Region
The successful applicants will work as an integral part of the multidisciplinary and medical teams. Under the supervision of a Consultant Psychiatrist, this position provides assessment and management for clients requiring specialist psychiatric care. The successful applicant will be committing to a length of training contract with WACHS.
The Rural Psychiatry Training WA (RPTWA) program is overseen by the Western Australia Branch Training Committee, in accordance with the requirements for obtaining Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP). The training program provides clinical and formal supervised training experiences in rural generalist psychiatry.

Essential Criteria
Eligible for registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia.Admission to Training of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists for basic training (stages 1-3).Demonstrated desire to obtain knowledge of / and experience in biological and psychotherapeutic interventions.Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a multidisciplinary interest.Demonstrated analytical ability.Highly developed report writing and policy formulation skills.Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.Demonstrated computer skills to enable management of medical and patient records, navigation of online policy access, internal communication and completing online learning resources.Eligible for / or in possession of a current C or C-A Class drivers licence.Desirable Criteria
Understanding of the issues around providing Mental Health services with a rural community, including provision of culturally appropriate services to indigenous families and communities.Knowledge of the Western Australian Mental Health Act 2014 and other related legislation.Understanding of and experience of working within RANZCP policies and guidelinesRelevant training or experience in educationCurrent knowledge and commitment to Equal Opportunity in all aspects of employment and service delivery.Employment is subject to appointment pre-requisites outlined in the JDF.
