About the Role TracksHealth Psychologists provide high quality, person centred, evidence based psychological interventions. Utilising a relational framework, clinicians work with children, young people and adults to conduct psychological assessments, provide therapeutic treatment and behaviour support services. A diverse caseload allows clinicians to build skills across areas, explore interest areas and implement skills learnt within tailored professional development plans.
Primary duties and responsibilities : Legal, Ethical and Professional Conduct
- Act within level of competence and refers when appropriate
- Recognise responsibilities and lines of accountability
- Behave in a responsible and professional way (e.g. client and professional relationships, confidentiality, ethical decision making, complaint procedures)
- Demonstrate independent management of professional affairs - able to work autonomously with minimal direction and instruction
- Demonstrate sensitivity to different cultural and indigenous values
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of the relevant legislation
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of the relevant ethical codes and guidelines (including key ethical issues of competence, professional roles and relationships, record keeping, dual relationships, confidentiality, terminating professional relationships)
Assessment and Measurement
Conduct psychological assessments across the lifespanInterpret test results and prepare written reportsDemonstrate understanding of limitations of standardised tests and their psychometric and normative basisDemonstrate understanding of culturally and linguistically appropriate test use and interpretationService Delivery
Make necessary psychological formulationsDevelop and / or plan preventative, developmental, remedial or other services in line within a positive psychological frameworkAdopt culturally and linguistically appropriate interventionsAdopt evidence-based interventions when availableWork sensitively with employees, carers and families of clients where appropriateImplement services underpinned by strength-based theory and practiceDemonstrate competence in basic counselling skills and utilise them in therapeutic service deliveryMonitor, process and review restricted / restrictive practicesReview selected behaviour support plans based on the individual needs of clientsParticipate in designated managerial meetings / sessions as requestedIdentify, monitor and assist in the allocation of resources to intervention implementation programsProvide consultancy to identified persons or groups as requestedMaintain updated records within identified electronic data base platformsMaintain accurate billing recordsAdhere to billing policies and proceduresConduct risk assessments on select clientsWork collaboratively within the Out of Home Care (OOHC) SectorWork in professional collaboration with TracksHealth psychologists, psychiatric consultants, TracksHealth Clinical Director, and other professionals in the provision of comprehensive services to clientsCommunication
Establish good rapport with clientsDemonstrate excellent oral and written communication skillsKeep records that meet health system and legislation requirementsPrepare and deliver training to staff, as requiredWork in positive collaboration with the Clinical Director, TracksHealth colleagues and outside agencies to promote quality clinical service delivery to all stakeholdersProfessional Development
Maintain and update knowledge and skillsAccess and critically interpret a range of sources of knowledgeCollect data that promotes effective service deliveryIntegrate evidence-based research into professional activityParticipate in weekly peer consultRegistration as a Psychologist with AHPRAOne-year experience (preferred) working with children, adolescents or adults with complex presentationsMust have these documents if successful
Working with Children CheckNational Police CheckDriver's license and comprehensively insured vehicleHold full AHPRA registration as a Registered PsychologistMust be eligible to register and bill under the NDIA and MedicareWhat we offer
