Australian Vaccine Services Pty Ltd is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead and manage the national nurse workforce to deliver safe, high‑quality immunisation services across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership, support and escalation management to all nurses.
- Ensure adherence to immunisation standards, cold‑chain protocols, and WHS legislation.
- Step into operating clinics when staff are unavailable (rarely required, local to Central Coast / Sydney / Newcastle).
- Investigate and document adverse events (AEFIs) and clinical incidents.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, credential checks and contract issuance for casual nurses.
- Oversee AHPRA, CPR / anaphylaxis, immunisation qualifications, and licensing compliance.
- Conduct training in immunisation practices, WHS, documentation and digital consent systems.
- Manage state‑specific immunisation approvals and renewals.
- Collaborate with scheduling and logistics teams to ensure nurse coverage nationwide.
- Review and approve nurse timesheets and agency invoices.
- Support rostering of nursing staff during peak periods and manage agency liaison when surge support is required.
- Oversee national vaccine ordering and distribution logistics.
- Maintain compliance with cold‑chain protocols, stock‑take tracking and batch documentation.
- Review temperature monitoring and wastage data to ensure audit readiness.
- Maintain workforce databases, clinical records and incident registers.
- Analyse vaccination data, incident trends and nurse feedback to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to policy and procedure review.
- Act as a key liaison between nurses and support / admin teams.
- Collaborate with payroll and finance for seamless administration.
- Lead post‑season debriefs and quality improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required
Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.Valid Australian Immunisation Certificate.CPR / anaphylaxis training and annual immunisation emergency qualifications.Minimum 3 full‑time years in nurse management, coordination or similar leadership roles.Proficiency in Microsoft 365, clinical scheduling and workforce database systems.Knowledge of cold‑chain standards, WHS and state / territory licensing for vaccinations.Willingness to travel and operate in‑clinic if required.Valid Police Check, WWCC and driver’s licence.Workload Seasonality
Full intensity from February to June each year, overseeing the national nurse workforce and clinic delivery during the vaccination season. From July to January the focus shifts to reviewing policies, updating procedures, maintaining compliance and preparing for the following season.
