Job Description

We’re looking for a Warehouse Lead to join our dynamic team in a newly created role! In this exciting position, you’ll be at the heart of managing and optimising our supply chain, ensuring timely deliveries, and solving logistical challenges.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee / lead a small team, managing 2-3 people working across container booking, shipping, customs clearing, and inbound planning / delivery scheduling. Annual container volume being managed is circa 10,000 TEU.
  • Coordinating wharf cartage contractors and shipping lines to plan for movement of containers from port to distribution centres.
  • Able to coordinate with other teams (warehousing / despatch, finance, product, suppliers), to manage the smooth movement of containers through DC’s within capacity levels while meeting due dates to fulfil customer commitments and eliminating demurrage costs.
  • Hold the day-to-day relationship with wharf cartage contractors, shipping lines, and customs agent / forwarders.
  • Producing internal reporting and forecasts to plan / project container volumes.
  • Involvement in planning annual reviews with shipping lines developing forecasts by port pair and support in negotiations with shipping lines for annual contracts.
  • Qualifications

  • Previous experience in logistics and transport.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm, especially during busy periods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Open to feedback and eager to learn, demonstrating a growth mindset.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
