About the Opportunity

As a Clinical Midwifery Educator (CME) at MLHD, you will be instrumental in the development and career success of the midwifery team. We’re seeking a dynamic, experienced Registered Midwife to inspire, mentor, and lead clinical education programs at the ward and unit level. In this flexible part-time role, you’ll facilitate learning, support professional development, and promote best practice in a collaborative, supportive environment. Make a real impact on quality care outcomes while sharing your expertise and fostering a positive learning culture across our district.

As the CME, you will :

  • Focus on supporting and educating other midwives, students and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Deliver comprehensive care to women throughout their pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement activities and contribute to a culture of safety and learning.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and respond flexibly to changing clinical priorities.
  • Up to date knowledge and skills, embracing continuous professional development, and are driven to inspire excellence in others while making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
  • Professional excellence, adhering to NMBA standards, codes, and guidelines, and applying them in your daily practice.
  • Confidence in delivering education, supervising learners, and supporting clinical skill development, while maintaining accountability for your decisions and promoting safe, high‑quality care.
  • An enjoyment mentoring, teaching, and supporting midwives, students, and other clinical staff, fostering a positive learning culture and promoting best practice within your unit
