Senior Electrical Design Engineer – Liftpass

The Role
As part of that growth, a new opportunity (with limited interstate travel) has been created for an experienced or Senior Electrical Design Engineer. Based in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, the successful candidate will play a critical role in the architecture design, hardware selection, generation of diagrams / schematics and installation details for high quality systems for major global and domestic clients; ensuring compliance with Australian standards.
Responsibilities
- Electrical system design / critical design analysis for projects.
- Design and amend drawings when required.
- Oversee the work of subordinates concerning adherence to electrical design systems and processes.
- Manage or conduct internal Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of electrical panels manufactured either internally or by 3rd party suppliers.
- Provide oversight and performance management of subordinate engineers and design staff, ensuring work output is of high quality and aligned with project objectives.
- Manage the quality of work output by the electrical engineering and drafting department.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges and proposed solutions to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Manage electrical engineering budgets, resourcing, and delivery schedules across multiple concurrent projects.
About you
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and accreditation (RPEQ or equivalent).Strong vendor or consultancy experience in electrical systems design for large-scale industrial automation / MHS or conveyored systems.Sound knowledge of requirements of AS / NZ3000 and AS4024.1.Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and / or EPLAN.Experience with centralised and decentralised motor control systems.Experience in hardwired systems, remote I / O, and industrial networks (e.g. Profinet, Profibus, ASi).Skill in managing electrical budgets, procurement and vendor engagement.Experience integrating 3rd party OEM electrical systems into large-scale solutions.Ability to work as part of a team in a projects-based environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Experience leading / mentoring engineering teams, including performance reviews, mentoring, and skills development.Strong problem solving, team building and decision-making skills.Strong familiarity with electrical installation methods and practices.Excellent time management skills and can prioritise competing demands.Optimistic and engaging outlook.Please send your resume to ian.eker@liftpass.com.au with an indication of your salary expectations or contact 0435985089 to find out more.
