Actuarial Analyst – Brisbane (9 month contract)

This role is based in the Brisbane office, and reports to the Head of Pricing and Underwriting, Asia. The Corporate Actuarial team operates out of 6 locations and is building a global function beyond Finance, with a direct relevance to the business.

Coordinating with the local businesses and the other Corporate Actuarial locations you will drive the implementation of the reserving strategy, principally for the Asia Pacific region for the Travel, Health and Assistance lines of business. This includes the reserve setting, assessment of underwriting performance, support to Solvency II actuarial function activities and contributing to other actuarial and Finance projects.

This role plays a key strategic role to ensure financial stability and profitable growth.

• Policy and Contract Wording
• Revenue and Growth Support
• Competitor Intelligence
• Portfolio and Risk Analysis
• Technical pricing

Key Experience:

• Actuarial analyst working toward qualification
• Undertake pricing activity using approved pricing methods
• Exceptional attention to detail, and has the ability to analyse information to identify problems and develop appropriate solutions
• Knowledge in Insurance, would be highly regarded
• Able to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and broad organisational influencing skills
• Able to intemperate policy wordings, following UW guidelines and standards
• Expert relationship building and negotiation skills
• Confident and engaging communicator both written and interpersonal skills
