Join an inclusive service providing accessible mental health support to the Kingaroy community. Our centre offers assessment, triage, warm referrals, and immediate support for people with varying levels of need, including those in crisis.
As a Brief Interventions Therapist, you will deliver competent, evidence-based mental health interventions tailored to meet the psychosocial needs and goals of our consumers. Utilising recovery, strength-based, trauma-informed, and motivational interviewing frameworks, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals on their mental health journey.
About You
- Experience in delivering a range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
- Ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and advocating for the mental health needs of clients.
- Provide individualised, culturally informed care, involving families and support networks where appropriate.
- Support the development of future practitioners by supervising and guiding student placements and contributing positively to team culture.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and actively participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in health, counselling, behavioural/social sciences, community services, or a related discipline
- Current Driver Licence
- Current Blue Card
- Current National Police Check
- Knowledge of mental health systems, legislation, and standards
- Knowledge and ability to develop and deliver group-based skills training activities to assist clients’ psychosocial functioning
