About the role

Thiess Mount Arthur South have an exciting opportunity for you to expand your skills and grow within a high performing team as a Maintenance Leading Hand. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of a team that is committed to developing our people.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Strong safety focus and high attention to detail, ensuring maintenance activities comply with site safety processes.
• Coach and mentor crew members to execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
• Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, and computer-based systems.
• Proven ability to work well under pressure, demonstrating high levels of initiative.
• Ensure mobile plant equipment defects are completed within an acceptable timeframe.
• Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.
• Source and requisition parts and / or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure.
• Verify the implementation of solutions and / or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

About you

Trade qualified Plant Mechanic

Proven post Trade experience in a Leading Hand or Senior maintenance role on an operational Mine

G1,G8,G9 certificate (highly regarded)

Strong working knowledge of large-scale mining equipment and maintenance practices

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work with cross functional teams

High level of commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
