Bankstown Sports is a one-stop destination for all.  Our venues include the Lady Banks Rooftop Bar and the Basement Brewhouse, along with diverse food offerings across Italian, Asian, and middle eastern cuisines, just to name a few.  The Group operates six clubs as well as a state of the art 600 seat theatre, a large Grand Ballroom and an extensive range of facilities to host events of all kinds along with a commercial office tower.

The Role :

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to join the La Piazza Management team. This role will be pivotal in the operation of La Piazza, ensuring the delivery of exemplary guest experiences and assisting in establishing the right energy and atmosphere for the venue.

The Assistant Restaurant Manager will work closely with the restaurant manager and will be responsible for ensuring operational success of the restaurant as well as building and managing relationships with staff and customers.

The role will be predominantly responsible for assisting the Venue Manager in driving business performance, managing day to day restaurant and bar operations as well as delivering high service standards. Other elements of the role will include;

  • Providing support, leadership and overseeing staff performance
  • Ensuring the smooth daily operation of the venue
  • Quality control and compliance
  • Managing daily bookings, functions and events
  • Monitoring and keeping track of customer satisfaction across both food and beverage
  • Ensuring Health & Safety standards and regulations are followed.
  • Plan and oversee scheduling for the restaurant’s members of staff.
  • Liaise with the management and staff of the restaurant to ensure provision of top-quality customer services.
  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in streamlining operations to ensure the financial viability of the restaurant.
  • Coordinate communication between back and front of house
  • Supervise all areas of restaurant and assist when needed

What we are looking for :

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Proven experience operating in a fast-paced, high volume service environment
  • Hands on management approach
  • Experience training staff in an a la carte environment
  • Broad product knowledge including bar skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build good relationships with the team and customers.
  • Able to work within operating hours including evenings and weekends
  • RSA and RCG Competencies (or willing to obtain)
