What does the job look like?

As an Aviation Screening officer in our newly created division, ARMSEC, you are part of a pivotal role ensuring the safety and security for passengers and staff. This role engages positively with people while monitoring for threats and responding to emergencies. Key areas:

• Operating various points of the screening process; ensuring passengers, staff, visitors, and their possessions are safely checked and cleared for entry
• Controlling access to security sensitive areas by undertaking physical searches, identifying dangerous or hazardous items, and always remaining vigilant
• Screening for any security threats in checked and oversized baggage
• Providing the best possible customer service in a safe and professional manner
• Undertaking emergency response action plan in the event of security threat
• Watch for irregularities and report incidents to the appropriate authority

Are you the one?

Focusing on the delivery of high quality, customer focused security services, the successful applicants will demonstrate commitment to providing a safe and memorable travel experience. This role is based at the Avalon Airport and requires flexibility in working shifts/rotating roster. You can demonstrate:

• Currently hold or willing to obtain

- Certificate II in Transport Security Protection

- Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

- Current First Aid Certificate

• A security mindset, with a keen focus on compliance and safety
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• A knack for problem solving and attention to detail in a fast- paced environment
• Collaboration and team-work skills
• Able to commit o shifts across a 7-day roster including AM, PM and weekends
• Proficiency in a second language is desirable but not essential.
