Overview

Lead Engineer | Sydney | Hybrid

Lead role at The Onset for building a scalable product platform with global reach, expanding into Sydney with incubation squads focused on 0→1 product builds in marketing and loyalty.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction and lead the engineering team in Sydney
Build squads, shape culture, and influence how we build and ship products
Help shape a new engineering culture, guiding a team that experiments, ships, and learns fast
Own the early-stage, greenfield initiatives and contribute to architecture decisions
Deliver products that connect people globally and scale with the business

What You’ll Bring / Qualifications

6+ years software engineering experience, with leadership and hands-on work across backend, APIs, etc.

Strong foundations in C# / .NET, cloud platforms (AWS), database work, CI / CD pipelines

Product mindset, comfortable with uncertainty, experimentation, and high output

Passion for building scalable, user-delighting experiences
