Subject Teacher – Science

Marist Sion College is situated in Warragul, Gippsland. Warragul is a thriving rural town set amongst rolling green hills and dairy fields, on the lands of the Gunaikurnai and Bunurong People. It is 102 kilometres south-east of Melbourne, accessible directly from the M1 freeway and lies between the Strzelecki Ranges to the south and Mount Baw Baw Plateau to the north. Employment type:Ongoing Full Time and Part Time Available

Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Planning and implementing a range of teaching programs
• Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student progress in key learning areas
• Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
• Teaching an area of the curriculum to a specific year level
• Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on student progress in key learning areas
• Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes
• Implementing effective student management consistent with the College strategic plan
• Supervising a range of activities, including support and welfare programs
• Modeling exemplary classroom practice and mentoring or coaching other teachers in the College to engage in critical reflection on their practice and to support staff in expanding their capacity
• Assisting staff in using student data to inform teaching approaches that enable targets related to improving student learning outcomes to be achieved.
