Overview

The Research & Product Data Assistant is a casual, entry-level role critical to supporting the broader functions of Canstar's Research Department. Primarily assisting the Ratings Team and Data Processing Team, this position is suited for individuals who are adept at manual data collection, document preparation, and desktop research. Reporting to the Group Manager - Research, Ratings, and Product Data, assistants will be dynamically assigned to work under the guidance of either the Data Processing Manager or the Ratings Manager, depending on the project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Processing : Perform manual data collection, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Assist in the preparation and processing of data for rating projects and research analysis.
  • Document Preparation : Compile and organise research materials, reports, and presentations. Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and readily accessible for the team.
  • Desktop Research : Conduct desktop research to support ongoing projects. Gather and summarise information from various sources to aid decision-making and strategy development.
  • Collaborative Assistance : Work collaboratively with team members across the Research, Ratings, and Product Data Departments, providing administrative and research support as needed.
  • Quality Assurance : Participate in quality control processes to maintain the integrity of data and research outputs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, as well as Google Suite (Doc and Slides).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively.
  • Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in data collection or administrative roles is beneficial but not essential.
  • Interest in financial products, market research, and data analysis.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt within a fast-paced, evolving industry.
