12 - 18 month position with possibility of extension

Small Government agency
Adelaide, Mildura, Canberra, Griffith or Albury / Wodonga location considered
The Opportunity

You will be joining a small, hardworking communications team in the centre of a busy and reputable Federal Government department.

Your duties will be broad and will stretch across all areas of communications including internal communications, media, website management, annual reports, and plenty more.

You will be supported by talented and passionate leaders who foster a positive culture throughout the Department.

This position may be offered in Adelaide, Murray-Bridge, Canberra, Albury / Wodonga, Griffith or Mildura.

Key duties will include

Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of communication strategies and plans

Provide assistance to support the day-to-day delivery of communication activities, including the development of a range of communications materials.

Provide assistance with communications support and advice to line areas to effectively communicate through established channels, communicating reasoning for decisions and recommendations.

Where possible, identify opportunities, issues or problems and initiate work to resolve or improve work practices, where appropriate.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating skills needed to communicate effectively to internal and external audiences

Skills and Experience required

To be considered for this position you must have demonstrated experience in the

science communications

space. APS experience is not essential however desirable.
