Remuneration : $143,851.09 – $146,522.64 per annum

  • What you'll be doing

    As a Community Diabetes Nurse Consultant, you will provide senior clinical leadership and strategic direction for diabetes care across multiple settings. Your expertise will drive evidence‑based practice, workforce capability, and innovative service delivery.

  • Deliver expert clinical consultancy for complex type 2 diabetes management
  • Lead and mentor nursing teams to ensure high‑quality, coordinated care
  • Partner with GPs and community health to strengthen integrated care pathways
  • Develop education resources and digital tools to empower patients and providers
  • Contribute to research and evaluation of innovative care models

    Essential Criteria

  • Current Registered Nurse Division 1 with the Australian Health Regulation Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Current credentialing with ADEA, Australian Diabetes Educators Association.
  • Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the diabetes / endocrinology field.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence‑based research.
  • Extensive experience with contributing to strategic and clinical service planning and the management of organisational and cultural change.
  • Demonstrated high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and proven ability to write for a variety of documents.
  • Proven advanced skills in clinical supervision and teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and evidence of the ability to develop, implement and evaluate specialty education programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary framework within I&CH and the LHD, in addition other service providers.
  • Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia and willingness to use for work purposes.
