The Opportunity:

Step into a team that is at the forefront of mining innovation as a Senior Mining Engineer in our Mining Solutions department. At Komatsu, we're pushing boundaries, and your expertise will aid the Mining Engineering team to maximise sales support and assist our customers to achieve the maximum productivity out of their Komatsu fleet. Additionally, you will be able to help shape the way Komatsu deliver technology solutions to our customers in the field.

You will be part of a high performing national team of experienced mining engineers who cover sales, aftermarket, technology and product development support for the Komatsu Australia Business (Australia, New Zealand and New Caledonia). The role will deal with a variety of customers, commodities, equipment and locations.

This is a golden opportunity to build on your existing knowledge of the mining industry and broaden your experience into new commodities. Your thorough insight of the mining process and value drivers will allow you to conduct application studies at customer sites and deliver targeted solutions. The quality of your work will strengthen strategic partnerships. You'll be Komatsu's ambassador in the field and the boardroom.

What we are looking for:

Qualifications & Experience:

• BEng in Mining/Civil with 5-10 years in mine planning or a related role.
• Practical onsite experience in mine planning or production coordinator roles
• Experience planning for large and varied fleets is desirable.
• Experience in conducting CAPEX justifications or engaging in Continuous Improvement programs.
• Expertise in Fleet Management Systems with a proven track record of analysing and extracting insights from extensive datasets.

Technical Proficiency:

• Expertise in data analysis, core mining processes, and financial evaluations.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Practical onsite experience in mine planning or production coordinator roles

Desirable Skills:

• Driver's license, Six Sigma/LEAN (Green Belt preferred), and proficiency in root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with SigmaXL/Minitab, MS Project, and Power BI/DAX coding.
• Experience with Fleet Management Systems and a proven track record of analysing and extracting insights from extensive datasets.
